Standing Inside the Fire

Published: 10 Oct 2021

From a post last night:

“There’s something to be said about standing right within the fire, or skirting along the razor’s edge of an event horizon ~ right where loss, suffering, and destruction, mix with hope, peace, and creation ~ seeing how much of it is moment-to-moment perspective, and seeing how people use that for benefit or for advantage. And somehow that all happens right from a plastic Adirondack chair on the patio while sipping tea. Some days that roller coaster just seems more intense than others.”

That, it would seem, is the entirety of life’s experience.

Is it though?

If it’s true, would recognizing it change it?

Sitting at the laptop on the patio, a half cup of coffee sitting in front of me, wondering if I would still appreciate its taste if one of the squirrels playing chase nearby leapt onto my leg, sinking its nails right in.

Why did I need to open a blank terminal window and fill it with this?

Time to return top off that mug and finish that coffee.
