Honestly? I don't know.

It no longer feels like it's my place to say.

First Snow

Published: 03 Jan 2022

Weather Forecast

39F with light rain. 6-9 inches of heavy snow is predicted early in the morning.

It’ll be the first snow of the calendar year, and for all practical purposes the first snow of the season. This is to say that I’m ignoring the few occurrences of “thick rain” – the kind of stuff that has you ask your mate to weigh in on whether that’s actually flurries you’re seeing.

I dropped by the local home store to exchange two small propane tanks. “Are you BBQ-ing in this weather?” My wife bought me a high-BTU, stand-alone propane burner. The purpose? Taking that wok outside, getting it as hot as we’d like while avoiding some oil and grease splatter cleanup in the kitchen afterward. “I guess you can put a lid on the wok. Enjoy!”

A stop by the Latin and Asian grocery store up the block for a few extra ingredients later and we’re set for a snowy stir fry on the porch tomorrow. For now, it’s hot cocoa and a podcast in the living room, the patio light on, illuminating an occasional thick drop of drizzle.

Be well, my friend.
