Is there anything more than to know yourself?

Not your role. Not your purpose. Just your self.

There is a path others would like me to follow. No ~ not “others” ~ something tremendously more powerful. It offers ease. Not a lot. Maybe not even enough. But ease. A path forward. But to where? A place I recognize. A place I’ve been before. A place to which I swore I would not return.

The mirror… It shows me what I may lose if I don’t. But it also shows me who I am: When I feel I have no choice but to surrender and reach for the door, the penalty is karmic and swift. “No. Not that door.”

I know what it is to break the seal, to pass through the gate. I have seen my mind’s own obstacles from the other side. I’ve known what it is to have one’s life recast in a moment.

But that is not the path. We’ll see where it leads. In the meantime, what self is there to know?
